Chihuahua Picture
OOAK Original picture of chihuahua by RachelI love the expression on this dog's face! In the reference photo, the Chihuahua was chewing a shoe. But I wanted to give the dog another guilty pleasure.
When I was a child, one of my brothers had a shepherd mix. Sadly, no one in the family invested the time and discipline into training the dog properly, and I think he was often lonely. He chewed anything he could get his muzzle around. One of his favorite things was a Raggedy Andy doll from the 1950s that had been passed down to me. I hardly played with the doll at all, so I didn't mind terribly. I would pick up Andy, wet with doggy drool, and just tuck him back into his drawer.
Fortunately for my brother's dog, my family gave him to a farmer. He spent the rest of his life running through the fields with the farmer's other dogs. I still have the Raggedy Andy which posed for this painting.
